    Registering recognition by Malawi, Africa region and beyond (NAP+, SANASO, Africaso, GNP+

    Earning donor recognition and support (UN, NAC, USAID, SAT, AJWS, One World Action, World Bank, etc.)

    Building the capacity of and providing support to the network with donor support technically and financially

    Participating in development of National Strategic Framework on HIV and AIDS (NSF) 2000 – 2004

    Participating and contributing to the development of the National HIV/AIDS Policy

    Conducting assessment surveys to establish needs of member support groups & associations

    Conducting Focus Group Discussions to establish how Stigma & Discrimination attached to HIV & AIDS affected PLWHA in Malawi

    Participating in piloting GIPA through UNV modality and continuing as executing agency in Malawi for GIPA with UNDP funding through National AIDS Commission

    Participating as executing agency for Care and Support Component of VCT Project between Malawi and the UN through UNFPA and collaborating organizations in four pilot districts

    Participating in development of the Malawi proposal to the Global Fund to Fight Tuberculosis, AIDS and Malaria (GFTAM)

    Promoting GIPA in Malawi; soliciting support of host organizations (public and private), mobilizing PLWHA willing to give a face and voice to HIV and AIDS to help individuals and organizations mainstream HIV and AIDS in planning and implementation

    Helping to scale up the Care and Support Component through Voluntary Counseling and Testing (VCT) in existing institutions and community based organizations (CBOs) in Blantyre, Mwanza, Kasungu and Mzimba districts

    Helping to form Post-Test Clubs (PTCs) through VCT and supporting implementation of activities with funding, training, technical assistance and materials like recreational items, home-based care (HBC) kits, etc.

    Distribution of Information, Education and Communication materials on HIV and AIDS to communities and organizations
