Who can apply for
membership at MANET+?
Any support group of PLWHA or Community
Based Organisation that is actively contribute to
national responses to HIV/AIDS prevention, care
and support, and impact mitigation services.

Membership Criteria
for Support Groups/CBOs:
1. The group must be a registered
HIV and AIDS CBOs at the district social welfare
office or equivalent.
2. The group must be democratic, non-partisan
and has a constitution (or draft?).
3. The group must demonstrate participation
and involvement of people living with HIV/AIDS.
4. The group should offer care and
support programme and activities that directly benefit
people living with HIV/AIDS. (Examples, the group
should have at least 1 of Home Based Care or Orphan
Care.)
5. Membership must be voluntary, with
or without fee. Membership can be exclusive, i.e.
only for those infected by HIV/AIDS or inclusive,
for both infected and affected.
Priorities will be given to:
Support group of PLWHA
CBO whose members and/or volunteers have received
VCT
CBO with strong programmes in HIV/AIDS advocacy
and reduction of stigma and discrimination
CBO in catchment area with limited community intervention
support available
CBO without other membership or affiliation
Procedure for SG
registration:
1. Applicant shall submit an application
or expression of interest to MANET+
2. MANET+ shall confirm within 1 week
that the application is
Complete and pending for review,
Rejected through initial assessment with written
feedback sent, OR
Incomplete and request for further document.
A complete application include
MANET+ Support Group Profile, and
Supporting Documents such as Constitution and
referral/recommendation letters from District
Social Welfare, DAC or Community Leaders
3. MANET+ might choose to perform
a capacity assessment as necessary by visiting the
SG.
4. Upon reviewing the complete application,
MANET+’s review team shall submit recommendations
to management for final decision.
5. A written membership application
result will be sent to

is rejected.
The process will take about 3
months or longer if an assessment visit is required
