Background:

MANASO was formed in November 1996.  It is a national Networking Organisation for AIDS Service Organisations in Malawi.

It operates through regional offices in the South, East and North with its secretariat in Blantyre

Mission Statement
MANASO exists to contribute to the reduction of the HIV/AIDS prevalence and alleviation of suffering caused by the epidemic in Malawi through: Coordination, Training, Mobilisation and Allocation of resources to AIDS service organisations in Malawi.

Objectives

·        To facilitate the sharing of information, ideas, experiences and resources in AIDS related work among AIDS Schemes Organisation

·        To built capacities of CBOs in order to improve service delivery

·        To coordinate HIV/AIDS related activities and functions undertaken by AIDS Schemes Organisation and other bodies and groups in the country
